Poiana Viselor is a guesthouse located in a wonderful setting on the top of a hill at the foot of the Piatra Craiului massif between Zărnești and Poiana Mărului.

There are several roads leading to here but some of them are hard to use and some are blocked by fences.

The 2 roads chosen by us are one steeper and full of gravel and the other a little smoother and less gravel. We chose to climb the steep one.

It starts from DN73A, that is the road that connects Zărneștiul with Poiana Mărului. The first part climbs smoothly and the road surface is quite smooth and is covered with a fairly compacted layer of fine gravel. Then after about a kilometer the climb begins, which is the most difficult part of this road. There are about 800m covered by a pretty loose gravel where you will have to keep the acceleration constant and the motorcycle will skid quite a lot but in no way will you have to stop on the steeper portions because it will be very difficult then to leave the place again. .

After this section, follow a slightly smoother and much more relaxing area and after about 1km you will come to an intersection where you will have to keep to the right if you want to continue but it is a pity not to stop a little at the Poiana Viselor pension because here the landscape it’s great so it’s a perfect place where you can eat something or if you have exhausted your climb you can stay overnight.

The section after Poiana Viselor until the descent towards Poiana Mărului follows the ridge of this hill and on the left you can admire the Piatra Craiului Mountains. As we begin to descend, the road passes more and more often through the forest. From time to time there are more difficult areas with gravel, but if you ride carefully and use the engine brake, you will get down smoothly.

The last section winds smoothly along the path of a valley and by the time you reach the tarmac, you will know that you are very close to the intersection with DN73A, so the off-road segment is over.
