OFF53 Valea Boroș – Motorsirulo

We rode it from north to south. From DN12a, Miercurea Ciuc – Comănești, in the village of Lunca de Jos, you will have to enter the communal road 232 towards the village of Valea Boroș. The road is paved till after the village towards the end of the valley. Right after the macadam road starts a few kilometers away. Be careful because there is an electrified fence wire that crosses the road. If you come fast, you will probably get into it. The thread is caught in a hook, you can set it aside, pass it and then hang it back.

Immediately after passing the cable, we leave the forest and reach the alpine area on the tops of the Ciuc mountains. From now on we will have beautiful views in all directions.

The route winds from one peak to another at an altitude of almost 1400m. We will come across a few sheepfolds and in 2 places we have to open gates for animals that block the road.

The route is quite varied. There are parts with dirt, parts with many potholes and ditches, parts with mud or grass. Towards the southern end of the route just before we reach the intersection with the 2Ride OFF24 road, we will have a relatively long slope with a lot of gravel.

The segment proposed by us ends at the point called Motorsirulo where there are the remains of a concrete fortification. Here you reach an asphalt road that descends to the Frumoasa reservoir.

If it rains or has rained recently, the road becomes difficult in some places, especially in uneven places where water collects and mud forms.
