The first part of the route crosses Bran village and Moeciu de Jos village. If you have the time, you can visit the surrounding sites: Bran Castle, Gradistei Gorge, Rașnov Citadel. The spectacular part of the road begins right after you exit Moeciu de Jos village. It starts with a steep climbing, a few hairpins and some nice curves. In a few minutes you will be on top of a hill from where you can admire the Bucegi Mountains on one side of the road and the Piatra Craiului Mountains on the other side.
After this place, the road climbs a little bit and you will have a few kilometers with incredible views and a superb road: lost of curves of all kinds, a few hair pins and some small villages. After you pass the Dealul Sasului hotel, the road starts to descend. Again you will have some tight hairpins and almost 7 kilometers of spectacular road.
Once you will arrive in the valley, in the village Podul Dambovicioarei, you can make a small detour to visit the incredible Dambovicioarei Gorge and the Dâmbovicioara Cave. This road was recently paved and the asphalt is very good. The first part of the gorge is the most impressive: vertical cliffs, with only 6-7 meters between them and a height of more than 40-50 m. Pay attention to the road because some of the curves have 0 visibility and the road is very narrow.
Once you get back to the DN73 road, we leave Podul Dambovicioarei village and we cross another hill with some nice curves. After this hill, the road will pass through a few villages and it follows the Dambovita River. The last spectacular part of the road starts after Dragoslavele Village with a new climb, but this time the curves are wider and you can ride with a greater speed. At the top of the last hill, right before Campulung, there is a monument with a very nice view towards the sub-Carpathian hills.
The descent from this monument to Campulung is the last part of this route and you will find a few hairpins and some other curves.
This route is a very nice alternative for the more popular routes between Bucharest and Brasov and sometimes it can be less crowded than the other roads.
