We rode on this road on a sunny spring day just at the beginning of the motorcycle riding season and probably this is one of the best periods to experience this road. Another way would be to take a short trip here when you are spending your vacation at the seaside and you are tired of staying at the beach and visit this little canyon and the nearby Casian Lake and Casian Cave. What I want to say is that it is not worthy to travel all the way here just for Dobrogea Canyon, because is not so spectacular, it is just a 2,5km valley with a total of 4-5 curves on the road. Although, what is spectacular about this road is the fact that in the middle of the flat landscape of this part of Dobrogea, this canyon comes an unexpected surprise.
The entire road segment that we propose between Targusor and Cheia villages is only 8 km long. Starting from Târgușor, you will first travel a long straight and flat stretch road. Then suddenly you will encounter some large curves, and until you realise you will find yourself surrounded by rocky cliffs with a maximum height of 15m. After just a few curves, the canyon ends and we enter the Cheia village. This was it: the Dobrogea Canyon. If you have an off road oriented bike, you can try the dirt road around the canyon or just take a short trip to the nearby Casian lake and cave. Beware of the BBQ people! they are everywhere, especially if you pass through this canyon during the weekend, so depending on your tolerance, you should decide if you want to pass through this canyon or you just want or wait for the weekend to pass so you can enjoy your trip without any disturbance.
