The road starts in the village of Slatina, part of the commune of Nucșoara and follows the valley of the river Doamnei up to Stăna lui Burnei.

It is a relatively popular road among lovers of mountain hiking because from its end you can climb the Moldoveanu Peak and descend on the same day. So, especially in the summer weekends you will find quite a lot of cars and tents on the roadside.

Immediately after leaving Slatina the asphalt ends. The road is quite wide but with many pits. After about 5km you will come to an intersection where another road departs to Malița Peak. Leave this road on the left and continue towards Stana de Burnei.

From here the signal disappears from the phone and slowly the road goes up and narrows. As we go, the potholes on the road disappear, too, because the traffic is getting smaller. The road is also used by those who carry wood from the mountain, so you have to be careful that on some sections it will be difficult to pass trucks even by motorcycle.

A good place to stop is at the Vălălatu Dam, where you can ride the motorcycle right on the dam, but to do so you have to turn around 100m to the right.

When the road has reached something wider than the width of a car and in the middle, between the tracks of car wheels, you will see the grass appear, you will know that you are nearing the end. On this last part the road surface is very good so you can go on some portions even with 60 km/h.

At Stăna lui Burnei the road ends abruptly and you have no choice but to take it back.
