On the road between Gheorgheni and Lacu Roșu, or better known as the road towards Cheile Bicazului (https://2ride.eu/en/segment/s08-bicaz-gorges/) is the Pângărați Pass. Here the road reaches 1254m. From this place the path proposed by us starts. On the right side as you come from the Bicaz Gorges, you will see a dirt road that climbs slightly into the forest. You have to take this road.

After a few hundred meters through the forest, we will see ahead, to the right the road that climbs the mountain coast. Here it begins the spectacular part of the road. It is relatively narrow and on the right is a fairly steep valley. The scenery is beautiful.

We will go through a small saddle and then the road moves to the side of another mountain. Now the scenic view opens to the left. We have already reached the maximum altitude of this road. We are at almost 1400m and for a few hundred meters we will follow the level curve until we reach a sheepfold. Here the road branches off and we will have to turn right. Then immediately the road forks again. This time we will take the road on the left, ie the one from towards the valley.

From now on, the road descends smoothly to the valley of the Putna Întunecoasă River. Until we reach the river we will have to cross 2 hairpins. Otherwise the road winds slightly on the mountain coast.

Once on the river bank, the road descends slightly for the next 8 km. We will know that we are approaching Hagota because pastures and houses are starting to appear on both sides of the road.

The road does not have difficult parts. There are no areas with large slopes or gravel. Just a few places with small mud and sludge.

The road is very beautiful, especially the area at the top where we have spectacular views in all directions. We liked it especially because we got rid of the madness and congestion that is created during the weekends on the road towards Lacu Roșu and Cheile Bicazului.
