Many years ago I was on this road coming from Predeal from Cabana Gura Diham. I was cycling then. Now I said let’s see how it is with the motorcycle.

The route starts from DN73A, near Pârâul Rece. As you come from Predeal, about 4 km from the intersection with DN1, you will see a road on the left. This is the road that leads to Cabana Forban and then to Cabana Diham.

The first part of the road we will advance through a dense forest of deciduous trees mixed with fir trees. The road starts to climb and after a few serpentines we will leave the forest in a clearing. Here is the Forban chalet.

After the chalet we climb a few more serpentines and then the road climbs relatively straight to a plateau with 2 antennas. Here we will have to take the road on the right. So far the road has been quite wide and well paved. Even if there are some bumps, ditches or potholes in some places, the road is easy to ride.

After the intersection of the antennas, the road becomes narrower and with less stone. This means that if it rains, there will be portions with some mud but nothing to be scared off. The last part goes on the level curve on the hillside Then we reach again an intersection where we turn right on the road that descends. A few hundred meters, a slightly steeper descent and we reach Cabana Diham.

From here there is a road that goes down to Râșnov or to Bran. We would have liked to try it but it was raining quite hard and the first part was a descent through the forest with lots of mud.

The road from Pârâul Rece to Cabana Diham, although short, is worth visiting for the landscapes in the area between Forban Chalet and Diham Chalet.
