Dobrogea is a region that at first glance does not seem to offer too much for off-road motorcycle adventures. Nothing is more false. In Dobrogea you will find everywhere all kinds of spectacular geographical formations: canyons, steep cliffs, forested valleys and even some dwarf mountains.

This route crosses the Măcin Mountains from Luncavița village to Greci village. It is the only way to cross these mountains without entering a protected area.

Starting from Luncavița, the first few kilometers we will cross a few fields until we pass under 3 high voltage lines. Then we will turn right and we will have the first climb a little more demanding. It is not very steep but the road is covered with grass and slides and on the edge there are many trees and shrubs that we have to go around.

After the first part of the climb we will reach a slightly more circulated road that reaches a sheepfold. Once we reach the sheepfold we turn south and descend until we reach the bank of a stream. Then we follow the course of this stream to another sheepfold and here we turn left and begin to climb to the highest altitude of this pass.

We climb about 2-3Km, on a constant slope up to almost 300m altitude. We will reach a viewpoint from where we can admire the landscape both to the south, to the Greci and to the north to Luncavița. If the sky is clear, you can see the Danube coming from the South and turning east towards Tulcea.

From here there are two ways to descend to the Greci a road that goes near the forest and another to the right next to a quarry. We chose the road on the left, next to the forest.

The descent is quite smooth with only a couple of slightly steeper sections. Then we will go out in a fairly flat field and go straight to the Greci.

This pass is quite easy to ride if the road is dry. If it has rained recently, it will probably become much more difficult to ride because the road is mostly dirt with no trace of stone.
