OFF61 Boboci – Butoiu de Sus

This is an easy trail, good for beginners. We did it on the first off road ride of the 2022 season when there was still snow in the mountains. The area around the cities of Ploiești and Târgoviște is studded with oil wells and consequently access roads to them. In general the roads are well maintained and most of them are unpaved.

This time we chose to explore the area southwest of Târgoviște. We left the asphalt, from the DN72, somewhere near the village of Boboci, between Găesti and Târgoviște. The first part of the route to the village of Mislea we will go through a wooded area on a generally straight road with small differences in level. From place to place we intersect with other similar roads that, if you have time, you can explore.

After about 5 km we reach the village of Căpșuna near Mislea. There is another Mislea village in Prahova county near Câmpina. We also have an off road route near that Mislea: https://2ride.eu/segment/off17-mislea-bustenari/ . From Căpșuna we will go a few kilometers on asphalt, then a new off road section follows. This time the road is a little more curved and we will reach a few places where we come out of the forest and we can admire the mountains in the distance.

The last section, namely the descent to Butoiu de Sus village, is the most difficult section of the route. The descent is quite steep and if it has rained recently it can be quite difficult. Fortunately, in some areas, the steepest, they put some concrete slabs. So the grip, especially if you want to climb around here, will be ok.
