The proposed route starts at the eastern part of the city of Covasna, in the area of the recovery sanatorium for heart disease. Don’t be scared, it’s not a road that gives you palpitations so you don’t need to stop here. We will follow the road that goes up to Comandău. In the first about 10Km we will climb from 650m altitude to over 1000m altitude. There are a few tighter curves and a few serpentines and then as we approach Comandău the road becomes quite straight both horizontally and from the point of view of the slope. This first part of the road is very well maintained and quite wide. There are parts where you can ride with 60-70km / h without much trouble.

In the center of the village there are a few hundred meters of asphalt road then, as soon as we exit the village towards south, the road narrows but the surface remains quite good. From here we will follow the valley of the river Bâsca Mică for the next approximately 15 km.

Then we reach an intersection in “T” where to the right the road takes us to Zăbrătău and to the left to Siriu. We chose to turn left.

From here we will follow the valley of the river Bâsca Mare. We will pass through an area where a small dam is being built and here you will have to be careful which road you take because some roads are dead ends. After passing the dam worksite, we will cross the left bank of the river and slowly turn south, leaving the Bâsca Mare valley.

After a slight ascent to over 1000m altitude, the road will start to descend constantly from here to the end of the route, at the base of the Siriu dam.

This road is excellent for beginners in off-road riding: it is of low difficulty and offers very beautiful landscapes. Also from this route you can access a lot of other forest roads for all levels of experience.

The proposed segment has a length of almost 70km and can be covered in about 2 hours to which are added the stops.
