The road has very low traffic values because there are faster ways to get from Baile Herculane to Targu Jiu and the project to build a road over Retezat Mountains was stopped.

S10 Danube Gorge

The spectacular road begins immediately after the exit from Drobeta Turnu Severin, in Gura Văii. On the right side, we can admire the Iron Gates dam. Although the altitude is quite small (just over 100m), it looks like we are in the mountains with huge limestone cliffs everywhere.

S09 Transapuseni

The TransApuseni road starts in the village of Rachitele just as the paved road finishes. Theoretically this road should have been finished since 2013 but because of some corruption scandals, the works have been ceased and only the western half of the road is paved.

S07 Mușat Pass

Coming from Focșani, at the beginning the road and landscape are quite flat and boring. Once you pass the Vidra village, the valley starts to get narrower and the surrounding hills become higher and higher and the road starts to wind along the river Putna.

S06 Rucăr Bran pass

The first part of the route crosses Bran village and Moeciu de Jos village. If you have the time, you can visit the surrounding sites: Bran Castle, Gradistei Gorge, Rașnov Citadel. The spectacular part of the road begins right after you exit Moeciu de Jos village.
